This is unlike incandescent which are heated and emit large amounts of electromagnetic energy in the infrared spectrum which can’t be seen and is felt as heat. That is to say, LED can convert significantly more of the energy applied into light, and therefore LED has a higher luminous efficiency with substantially lower amounts of heat produced.

There are two kinds of LED for LED Display’s production at the moment, DIP and SMD.
DIP -- Dual in-line package LED, it is most used for outdoor displays, it has the advantages of total water-proof, wide viewing angle and high brightness.
SMD -- Surface mount LED, it is most used for indoor displays, it has the advantages of wide viewing angle and perfect color uniformity.
